What is Profhilo
Profhilo is an exclusive, revolutionary, new treatment that works to tighten the skin instead of filling it.
Although, it is a hyaluronic acid based treatment, it is completely different to traditional fillers, and it works via bio-remodelling the skin. This is the latest buzz word in the facial aesthetic arena!
It remodels the skin by stimulating the production of four different types of collagen and elastin. This is the only product out there that will do this.

The Procedure
We use a safe injection technique called BAP injection points (Bio Aesthetic injection points) where 5 points are injected on each side of the face. PROFHILO® is injected to the mid third and lower third of the face, where dermal laxity is experienced as a result of age, diet and lifestyle. These minimal injection points will not only reduce the number of visits, but also patient discomfort.
Before treatment is carried out, Mylene Davis will do a thorough consultation to assess the patient's suitability for treatment and discuss the likely results.

It can be used on the Face, the Neck, and the Décolletage. On the body it can treat the Hands, Upper Arms and above the Knees.
How Does Profhilo Work
As a stabilised product, Profhilo lasts in the skin for around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by the slow release of HA.
The stimulation results in a significant tissue improvement, as can be seen in the photographs below. Therefore, we cannot say that Profhilo is a skin booster alone, as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
WHO IS PROFHILO SUITABLE FOR?
Generally, anybody from the age of 30 and up is suitable as Profhilo is an ideal treatment for anybody who wants to keep their skin strong and in good condition. It is also beneficial for those individuals who have started to notice the first signs of skin laxity, or have visible signs of ageing skin. These are the ideal times to start preventive therapies to accommodate deterioration.
As people age, they start to lose significant collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin after the age of 30. In younger people, it can have a more of a preventive effect by strengthening the skin's collagen and elastin, and by increasing its hydration levels.

This, in combination, with other options like dermal fillers, can have much better results than facial fillers alone.
How long does it last for?
The effects of this revolutionary treatment are increased firmness, increased elasticity, and a general rejuvenation that lasts between 4 - 6 months. This will depend on the severity of the skin condition, a patient's lifestyle and age.
It is recommended that a patient should have 2 Profhilo treatments with a 4-week interval between treatments. Maintenance sessions are recommended every 4 - 6 months.
Does it hurt?
As with most injectable procedures, the patient may experience a slight stinging sensation at the injection site, however with the PROFHILO® procedure, minimal injection points are required and discomfort is minimal.
